RE | Solutions is the Remediation and Development Manager (Horizontal Master Developer) for the redevelopment of the former Cal Compact Landfill site in Carson, California. This 157-acre site is located between Del Amo and Avalon Boulevards, fronting on the 405 Freeway and less than a mile from the 110 Freeway.

The property was operated as a municipal solid waste landfill from 1957 to 1965. During the life of the landfill, approximately six million cubic yards of municipal solid waste and 6.3 million gallons of industrial liquid wastes were disposed of at the site.RES worked with the City of Carson to prepare The District at South Bay Specific Plan, which amended the City’s Specific Plan for the property. The property is entitled for a mixed use project featuring retail, entertainment and multi-family uses. 

RES is responsible for managing the property until the completion of the horizontal development, which has included completing environmental remediation and site improvements, as well as delivering a complete foundation system (piles and a structural slab) for the retail portion of the project. The property is currently undergoing re-entitlement for industrial distribution use of approximately 157 acres of the site.
